As part of its commitment to advancing the President’s 8-point reform agenda, the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has inaugurated a new nine-member board.
The inauguration, which took place on Monday in Abuja, was overseen by the FMBN Managing Director and Chief Executive, Shehu Usman Osidi.
This milestone marks a renewed push by the bank to bridge Nigeria’s housing deficit by driving innovation and improving operational effectiveness.
Here are the profiles of the newly inaugurated board members
Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna – Board Chairman

A Nigerian health personnel, businessman, and politician. He began his career as a laboratory technician after graduating from Usman Danfodiyo University. He transitioned into politics and has held various appointive and elected roles. He holds an honorary doctorate in Public Health from Columbus International University.
Sheun Usman Osidi – Managing Director/CEO

A consummate banker with over 30 years of experience in the private and public sectors. He joined FMBN in April 2010 and previously held leadership roles at Diamond Bank, Intercontinental Bank, Lion Bank, and Afribank. He holds an MBA from Bayero University and various professional qualifications.
Ibidapo Odojukan – Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services

In his 25 years of expertise, Odojukan has held several executive and non-executive positions. Before FMBN, he was a Partner and Director at Chestercross, a management consulting firm. He is a philosophy graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University, later acquiring professional qualifications, locally and internationally.
Hon. Muhammad Sani Abdu – Executive Director, Loans and Mortgage Services

Legend, with 53 years of experience across legislative, public, and academic roles. A former House of Representatives member and former Deputy Director at key federal ministries, he is also an academic contributor to Nigeria’s housing policy development.
Chinenye Chinedu Anosike – Executive Director, Business Development & Portfolio Management

After about 23 years of experience, Chinenye is an old hand in banking services at the United Bank for Africa (UBA), having risen through before her appointment. She holds a B.Sc. in English Language and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2017, amongst several local and international professional qualifications.
Arc. Mrs. Abimbola Adenike Asein – Non-Executive Director – Member

A renowned architect, astute administrator, and skilled boardroom executive. She began her career at Ericsson Bello & Associates, Kaduna, before pivoting into the Federal civil service of Nigeria in 2001, where she rose through as Non-Executive Director in 2020, before this reappointment. A holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Architecture from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria.
Aliyu Tijjani – Non-Executive Director – Member

Mr Tijjani holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Bayero University, Kano, and an MBA from the Bangor Business School, UK, alongside various professional qualifications. His experience spans over two decades in both regulatory and top financial institutions in Nigeria.
Momoh Jubril – Non-Executive Director – Member

Financial expert and public administrator. He began his professional life at the Nigerian Ports Authority, where he rose to the pinnacle before he was appointed Accountant General in Kogi State, Nigeria. He bagged a B.Sc in Accounting alongside acquiring several professional.
Abdullahi Hamisu – Non-Executive Director – Member
A fellow chartered accountant with over two decades of experience in Nigeria’s financial sector. He has spent cognate years serving in roles under the Central Bank of Nigeria, such as principal manager and senior manager in the Payment System Department. Holds a master’s in Business Administration and Professional Accounting.
